DIY-TEK Mycology Lid Kit – Mycology Lid Assembly Guide

Before diving in, make sure you’re armed with all the kit pieces, and why not consider our heat-resistant silicone syringe (optionally available) for that flawless assembly?

Materials Needed:

  • PTFE-0.22 Air Syringe Filter Port (for gas/air exchange)
  • Heavy-Duty (Self-Healing) Syringe Port (for adding cultures)
  • Heat-Resistant Silicone Syringe (Optionally Included For $1.00)
  • PP5 Mason Jar Lid (Optionally Included For $1.00)
  • Drill Bits (NOT INCLUDED)

Step 1: Embark on your assembly adventure by drilling the needed holes: a 1/2″ hole for the Heavy-Duty (Self-Healing) Syringe Port and a 5/32″ hole for the PTFE-0.22 Air Syringe Filter Port into your chosen lid.

Step 2: Install the Air Syringe Filter Port by snugly inserting it into the smallest hole on the lid. If necessary, use a pinch of heat-resistant silicone for extra security. This is your guardian against contamination invaders.

Step 3: Add the Injection Port by placing the heavy-duty syringe port into the 1/2″ hole. It’s your express lane for injecting liquid culture. Optionally, fortify it with a small bead of heat-resistant silicone on the port’s inner diameter, pressing it firmly into place. Let it dry to create a seal as strong as your mycological passion.

Step 4: Your lid is now ready to join the ranks of mycological legends once sterilized with a pressure cooker or autoclave. But for now, take a bow – your craft is complete. Congratulations!
